A simple care guide for golden pothos
Light, watering and pruning for a plant that can trail from a shelf or climb a support.

Find a bright shelf
Golden pothos has heart-shaped leaves with yellow or cream markings. Bright, indirect light helps keep that contrast. It tolerates lower light, but growth may slow and new leaves may be greener.
Check before watering
Let the upper part of the mix begin to dry, then water and drain the pot. Tired-looking leaves are a reason to inspect the soil, not automatically a reason to add water: the roots may already be too wet.
Trail, climb or prune
Let stems fall from a shelf or guide them up a support. Trim a long stem above a node if you prefer a fuller plant. Use clean scissors and keep cuttings away from children and pets; pothos should not be chewed or eaten. Wipe dusty leaves and inspect the undersides when watering.
